In My Morocco

Marrakesh. A point of happiness.

Even though I've been living in Morocco for some years now, I never managed to visit this amazing city. So it was decided long before our Summer vacation that we will be traveling there. And I did not really care that temperature can be more than 50°C sometimes, I just couldn't wait to see this majestic place.
And it was one of the best decisions in my life because Marrakesh is a city you'll never forget or mix up with any other place. Pure art of architecture, ancient walls of mosques and museums, a huge amount of green spaces, modern park installations promoting recycling, silver boutiques, the smell of tajine and the taste of Moroccan tea make you feel loved and welcomed, make you feel that Marrakesh loves you and accepts you.
The city itself is a mix of cultures and religions with all the best what Morocco can propose. People are open and helpful and it is hard to understand who are locals and who are tourists because you can hear so many different languages on the street, the outfits of people ( especially women) are not strict at all, comparing to other places in the country, everyone starts going out after 19 and the real Marrakesh life starts at 21. The time where the temperature is perfect to be outside.
The number of parks is amazing!
Clean, secured, well designed they become a great place to overcome a midday heat or to rest and relax in the evening. And then, full of energy you are obliged to go to Jemaa el-Fna square- the symbol of Marrakesh night life. The place of organized chaos, Moroccan music, henna art, street food ( the best Tajines ever) and spontaneous shopping ( make sure it includes some argan oil, ghassul, and musk).

Marrakesh with its simplicity of lifestyle helps you to find a joy in everything, to look around and to smile to unknown people because in this particular Moroccan city they will smile you back.
Welcome to Marrakesh! Welcome home! Marhaban!
